Yahoo Canada respects intellectual property laws and has adopted the following policy toward intellectual property infringement on its Services.

Reporting Instances of Intellectual Property Violations

For copyright or trademark concerns about search results powered by Bing (including, but not limited to, Sponsored Listings and Ads results), please click on the relevant sections under Related Resources to contact Microsoft directly.

If you believe that material residing or accessible on or through Yahoo’s Services infringes your copyright, please send a notice of copyright infringement to Yahoo Canada with the following information (your “Notice”):

  1. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, including its location on the Yahoo Services, with sufficient detail so that Yahoo is capable of finding the material and verifying its existence (e.g., in most circumstances, we will need a URL)
  2. Description of the material that you claim has been infringed. If this material exists online, please provide a URL.
    1. State your interest or right to the work that you claim has been infringed;
    2. Identify the specific infringement that is claimed (i.e. reproduction, communication to the public by telecommunication); and
    3. Identify the date and time when this infringement took place
  3. Contact information, including your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. Please advise Yahoo if you do not want us to forward your Notice to the posting party pursuant to Canada’s Notice and Notice regime.

Upon receiving your notice, Yahoo Canada will take the following steps:

  1. If your Notice was submitted by email or using our online form, we will send you an email acknowledging receipt of your Notice.
  2. If your Notice is about material that is residing on Yahoo’s Services, we will forward a copy of your notice to the person responsible for posting the material, unless you have told us you don’t want the Notice to be forwarded.
  3. If we forward the Notice, we will send you a confirmation that it was forwarded.
  4. If we are not able to forward your Notice, we will send you an email to explain why.

If you are asserting infringement of a trademark please follow the same procedure above for a Notice, and, if applicable, include your registration and/or application number(s) pertaining to your trademark. Accounts or subscribers that are the subject of a trademark notice may submit an appeal to Yahoo, along with any relevant materials you would like Yahoo to consider.
